How to Play and Record
ETS2 in Portrait Mode
for Shorts and Reels
Hi Everyone, hope all are having a good day.
Recently I have been getting a lot of questions on how I record portrait style videos for YouTube shorts or Instagram, Facebook reels. In this article I will explain how I do it.
There are two ways I do this.
1. With an External Monitor
For this your monitor should support rotation or you will need an external arm/stand (like VESA stand) that supports full 90 degree rotation. Once you rotate the screen, go to display settings and change display orientation from landscape to portrait. Now if you launch Euro Truck Simulator 2, the game will automatically start in vertical resolution. And you can use any screen recorder you currently use to record game play.
1. Without External Monitor
If you don’t have or can’t afford an external monitor, there is a simple hack. Put your laptop vertically like I have in the photo. Please note, laptops have few moving parts inside, like your hard drive (no problem with SSDs, since they are solid state) and cooling fans. Generally if you be gentle, they shouldn’t be affected, but please take extra care while moving the laptop. Most laptops (except some new gaming laptops) have most of their ports on the sides, so keep in mind the ports on the side on which the laptop stand become temporarily unusable. So you need to see which side you have least/avoidable ports and stand on that side.
Once done, change the display orientation to portrait or portrait (flipped) depending on the direction of your rotation. Then you can play the game and record.
I hope this article helps, have a nice day.
Thank you for your time.
